A Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the development of road infrastructure inside the wind power plant / solar power plant projects & some other plants projects.

This role involves working with a team of engineers, architects, and planners to ensure that roads are constructed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local, national, and international standards. Below is a typical job description for a Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer specializing in road design:

Key Responsibilities:

Road Design & Engineering:

  • Develop detailed road design plans, including geometric alignment, cross-sections, profiles, and intersections using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Ensure that road designs comply with relevant engineering standards, local regulations, and client specifications.
  • Conduct road safety audits and incorporate safety features into road designs.
  • Design stormwater drainage systems, culverts, and other related infrastructure.
  • Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather necessary data for road design projects.
  • Perform feasibility studies and cost estimates for new road projects or upgrades to existing infrastructure.
  • Evaluate traffic patterns and recommend solutions for traffic congestion and safety improvements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, environmental consultants, and urban planners.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure the smooth execution of road projects.
  • Coordinate with construction teams during the implementation phase and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Ensure that road design projects are environmentally sustainable and comply with local environmental impact regulations.
  • Prepare and review environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and other documentation required for regulatory approvals.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential issues during the design phase, proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that design deliverables meet quality control and assurance standards before submission.
  • Utilize industry-standard software for design (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D) and modeling software (e.g., InRoads, MX Road) for developing infrastructure layouts.
  • Analyze project data using relevant simulation and analysis tools (e.g., HEC-RAS for hydrology, traffic analysis software).
  • Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources during the design phase.
  • Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders.
  • Provide input into procurement processes, including reviewing bids and selecting contractors.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil Engineering specializing in Roads and Grading engineering, and pavement design for plant project.
  • Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in road design, construction, and maintenance, with a deep understanding of relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and road engineering analysis tools.
  • With the ability to lead teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Candidate with rich experience in renewable energy projects such as Photovoltaic Plan, Wind Energy Plant will be preferred.
  • Iqama must be Transferable.
