Position: Solar Design Engineer

Location: Al Safi Group HQ – Baghdad, Al – Yarmouk near the Green Apple

Responsibilities :

• Design and prepare solar PV system layouts using specialized software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD.
• Conduct site assessments to evaluate project feasibility, expected energy production, and system performance.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring layouts, and mounting structure designs.
• Perform technical calculations such as:

• PV System Sizing
• Inverter Sizing
• Cable Sizing & Voltage Drop
• Shadow Analysis

• Prepare BOQ and calculate required materials and quantities for the project.
• Prepare and submit Material Submittals and Datasheets, and coordinate with suppliers for selecting appropriate system components (panels, inverters, cables, mounting systems).
• Supervise and review installation works on-site to ensure quality and compliance with approved designs.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning, ensuring full operational functionality.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Provide technical support to sales, procurement, and site teams when needed.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards and safety regulations (NEC / IEC).
• Monitor completed systems and prepare performance and monitoring reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in solar PV system design and implementation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope.
• Strong knowledge of PV components including panels, inverters, batteries, and charge controllers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with On-Grid, Off-Grid, and Hybrid solar systems.
• Knowledge of modern battery technologies .
• Experience in preparing technical offers and proposals.
