ABOUT THE JOB
Job description:
We are looking for Water Treatment Plant Engineer to be integrated into Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Services team for an Integrated Steel Plant project in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The role involves engineering review, overseeing construction activities, and managing the commissioning of the water treatment plant systems. The engineer will ensure that design and construction adhere to industry standards, project specifications, and environmental regulations while ensuring quality, safety, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Review:
- Design Review:Analyze and review water treatment plant engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications for compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Documentation:Ensure all engineering documentation is complete and properly integrated with other plant systems (e.g., steel production processes).
- Technical Support:Provide technical expertise and feedback during design optimization, ensuring systems are robust, efficient, and sustainable.
- Environmental Compliance:Ensure designs meet environmental regulations, particularly regarding water treatment, discharge quality, and resource efficiency.
2. Construction Management:
- Construction Supervision:Oversee the construction activities of the water treatment plant, including civil, mechanical, and electrical installations, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Contractor Coordination:Liaise with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that construction activities are performed according to schedule and safety protocols.
- Progress Monitoring:Track construction milestones, report progress to the project management team, and ensure that any deviations or delays are addressed promptly.
- Quality Assurance:Ensure that materials and workmanship meet project and industry standards, performing site inspections and audits as needed.
3. Commissioning Management:
- Pre-Commissioning:Manage pre-commissioning activities such as system checks, equipment testing, and troubleshooting to ensure the water treatment plant is ready for operational start-up.
- System Integration:Coordinate with other plant disciplines to ensure the smooth integration of water treatment systems with the steel plant’s production processes and utilities.
- Start-Up:Supervise the commissioning of water treatment systems, ensuring that performance tests are conducted according to the project plan and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshooting:Identify and resolve any operational or technical issues during commissioning, working closely with contractors and suppliers to implement corrective actions.
4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management:
- Safety Compliance:Ensure that all construction and commissioning activities comply with health and safety regulations, working to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Environmental Standards:Monitor the environmental impact of water treatment processes, ensuring that the plant’s operations comply with local and international environmental standards.
5. Project Coordination and Reporting:
- Client Liaison:Act as the primary point of contact for the project owner regarding all water treatment plant-related matters, providing regular updates and technical support as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting:Prepare detailed reports on engineering review outcomes, construction progress, and commissioning results. Document any technical issues or deviations and propose corrective measures.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:Work closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.

ABOUT YOU
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering.
- More than ten Years’ experience in metallurgical engineering design.
- Working experience in design of corresponding specialty
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Positive and proactive working attitude
- Possess competent language skills in English
