Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope to design solar PV systems, including array layout, module placement, and electrical configurations.
• Perform shading analysis, site surveys, and structural assessments to optimize system design and maximize energy production.
• Design electrical systems for solar PV installations, including string sizing, inverter selection, and conductor sizing to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Calculate system losses, voltage drop, and performance characteristics to meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Select solar PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and balance of system (BOS) components based on project requirements, performance criteria, and cost considerations.
• Develop technical specifications, datasheets, and procurement documents for solar PV equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with utilities, electrical engineers, and regulatory agencies to facilitate grid interconnection and compliance with local codes and standards.
• Design interconnection systems, including metering, switchgear, and protection devices, to ensure seamless integration of solar PV systems with the electrical grid.
• Design mounting systems and support structures for solar PV arrays, considering factors such as wind loading, snow loading, and structural integrity.
• Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for permitting and construction purposes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, renewable energy engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in solar PV system design, preferably in residential, commercial, or utility-scale projects.
• Proficiency in design software tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and electrical simulation software.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, photovoltaic technology, and solar PV system components.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to solar PV design and installation (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
