Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of solar PV systems, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and solar canopy installations, from concept to completion.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate solar potential, shading analysis, structural integrity, and electrical infrastructure requirements.
- Develop detailed engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for solar projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.
- Utilize software tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD to perform system modeling, energy yield simulations, and shading analysis to optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement specialists, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project execution and on-time delivery.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers, designers, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and evaluate proposals from vendors, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to ensure technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes affecting solar PV systems, and incorporate innovative solutions into project designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in solar PV system design and engineering, with a focus on utility-scale and commercial projects.
- Strong technical proficiency in solar PV system design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, PVSOL, and AutoCAD.
- In-depth knowledge of solar photovoltaic technologies, electrical systems, and relevant industry standards (NEC, IEEE, IEC, etc.).
- Experience with structural analysis software and familiarity with structural design considerations for solar installations.
