Responsibilities:

• Enforce safety regulations and standards set by relevant authorities and the organization to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Identify potential hazards associated with substation operations and cable laying activities, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
• Conduct safety training sessions for employees and contractors to ensure they understand and adhere to safety protocols.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential emergencies such as fires, spills, or electrical hazards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize the environmental impact of substation and cable laying activities.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of work sites, equipment, and processes to identify safety and environmental compliance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Understanding of electrical systems, substations, and cable laying techniques is essential to assess risks accurately and develop effective safety measures.
• Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards is crucial for ensuring compliance.
• Effective communication skills are necessary to convey safety procedures, conduct training sessions, and collaborate with other team members.
