Summary of Job:

The Senior Contracts Engineer will undertake contract administration activities with a focus on contractual conflicts in terms of contractual interests with the target of reserving the organization’s rights under the contracts. You will be handling contract accounts and shall provide support to the project teams concerning contractual issues arising for these accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • on-going contracts including monitoring of contract compliance for the project.
  • appropriate levels of communication with the accounts’ counter stakeholders.
  • control of and monitor accounts’ contractual correspondence, data and reports and identify any contractual positions and risks arising therein.
  • and prepares risk identification and analysis by coordinating suitable countermeasures together with the project teams to minimize the risk and update logs accordingly.
  • and support of project teams in negotiations to represent the contractual and legal interests of the organization including active Claim and Variation Management.
  • on project contracts analysis in terms of contract discrepancies, claim potential, counter claims, possible variation orders and closing plan.
  • documentation and valuation and time impact assessment to negotiate change orders.
  • claims and/ or counter claims in line with the contracts department and the project management strategies.
  • requests for claims and/or defense against claims.
  • client invoices prior to submission with coordination with the project teams and reports any under certification in order to resolve any pending issues and update logs accordingly.
  • lower tier subcontractors and suppliers’ invoices to ensure full adherence with the contract and update logs accordingly.
  • to implement account close-out plan in order to close all liabilities as due.
  • documentation for insurance claims in coordination with insurance teams.
  • progress summary on a monthly basis for respective accounts that includes claims, variation orders, invoices and/or any related correspondence.
  • compliance with contracts department and project management strategies.
  • define gaps and recommend modifications to the procedures in relation with the contracts administration and the department reporting systems; to ensure that the systems allow the intended flow and control for the relevant activities.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum +5 years of work experience.
  • Solid background and expertise in EPC projects, specifically in Power Generation, transmission, water treatment and desalination, Oil/Gas, Utility, and/or Infrastructure type projects.
  • Fluency in English & Arabic and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Commercial and Financial Awareness.
  • Good understanding of delay analysis techniques and cost calculations.
