***Clarification on SMP Contract: It is Supplementary Manpower service contract job in which prospective applicants are interviewed and salary determined by NEOM interview panel; and being employed under the payroll of SMP Contract (SMP Vendor). Successfully mobilized candidates would be under the visa sponsorship of SMP Vendor Company/Contract.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Director of Engineering / Public Works, the Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) will be required to support projects within the NEOM Operations sector.
REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
The Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) SMP responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for inspection and monitoring the day-to-day project progress of electrical systems under the project scope
- Performs all supervisory duties of the project and able to manage a project work package with minimum supervision
- Responsible for compliance to project controls and administration guidelines/procedures including those related to cost controls and forecasting, planning, and scheduling, contract administration and materials control during project execution.
- Coordinates all issues of electrical system under the project Scope with contractor for resolution
- Responsible and accountable for all safety, health and environment aspects of the project site and personnel.
- Assists in making technical decisions regarding electrical systems issues and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations (IEEE, NEMA, NEC, NFPA and International standards).
- Verifies that construction conforms to electrical system design and requirements and reviewing contracts, specification, drawing and all related control systems.
- Control and monitor all activities of consultants and contractors and to ensure these activities are in accordance with approved drawing and specifications.
- Monitors the installation and start-up of electrical systems and commissioning of the project,
- Attends all group/ coordination meetings for control/instrumentation system
- Provides technical consultations on issues related to electrical systems
- Responsible for evaluation of contractor and sub-contractor performance and proposal evaluations.
- Responsible for maintaining project records including drawings, specifications, logs, financial reports, and project correspondence.
- Support in tracking deficiencies and notification related to construction trades as related to exception items and project notification generated during the project commissioning
- Willing to be on call or on duty as business requires during weekends and official holidays.
- Provides technical knowledge and experience in all electrical works.
- Must be able to maintain records and report on daily basis
- Perform design review based on the designated code and standard
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience
- 10 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering practices, principles, designs, operations and maintenance of substations and switch gears and building construction industry and experienced in commissioning and running facility power systems.
- Experience in large projects and with large engineering, construction, or EPC companies
Knowledge
- Internationally recognized engineering and technology standards, codes (including Saudi Arabia’s) and trends in Mechanical engineering design.
- Latest trends in engineering and technology, construction and software, BIM (and related
- software), renewables energies, and green designs, smart city design
Skills
- Preparation of recognized industry Electrical Engineering standards, policies, and guidelines
- Excellent technical, analytical, design and engineering capabilities
- Strong Leadership skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Certified Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent
- Membership in related professional association/s
