Responsibilities:

• Work with the Environmental Team on a broad range of engineering projects and advisory services.
• Work with the wider multidisciplinary team to develop environmentally friendly designs and produce Environmental Management Plans including mitigation measures.
• Prepare/contribute to the following studies:

• Environmental Planning;
• Environmental Permit Applications;
• Environmental Scoping Studies;
• Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEAs)/Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESAs);
• Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)/Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs);
• Environmental Management Plans (EMPs)/Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs);
• Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)/Construction Environmental and Social Management Plans (CESMPs) ;
• Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP);
• Resettlement Policy Frameworks (RPFs); and
• Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs).

• Prepare/contribute to proposals with an environmental scope.
• Coordinate with other departments on proposals and projects.
• Compile literature on specific environmental topics.
• Undertake/contribute to Stakeholder and Public Consultation sessions.
• Conduct site visits inside and outside the country.
• Prepare scope of work and supervise sub-consultant(s).
• Coordinate and meet with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
• Meet with the Clients.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in Environmental Science or a related subject.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in this field.
• Demonstrable knowledge of preparing Environmental Studies such as Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs).
• Knowledge of IFC Environmental and Social Performance Standards is an advantage.
• Willingness to work away from the base office.
• Excellent ‘self-starting’ capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proven excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic. Proficiency in French language skills is an advantage.
