JOB DETAILS
Division: Power Transmission Maintenance
Group: O&M Power Elements (PWE)
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor – Wind
Liaise/Cooperate With: NGHC O&M Team, Maintenance Contractor
POSITION SUMMARY
Wind – Electrical Technician shall inspect, monitor, and repair the electrical equipment of 1.7 GW windfarm at Neom Green Hydrogen Plant. It shall support to maintain safety, equipment integrity and reliability in accordance with NGHC maintenance strategy whilst ensuring uninterrupted plant operations and effective upkeep of assets. It shall contribute to continuous workflow improvements and increase in the asset productivity and efficiency.
NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are:
- Carry out daily electrical maintenance work and routine preventative electrical maintenance work according to set schedule and maintenance procedures.
- Oversee third-party maintenance contractors and report any deviation / non-conformance with respect to contract and approved maintenance procedures.
- Perform isolation of electrical equipment and LOTO implementation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Assist in inspections for signalling, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of windfarm equipment.
- Assist in inspections for mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of windfarm equipment.
- Maintain Turnover Packages / Final Documentation received from EPC Contractor and study the related manuals / procedures.
- Carry out required daily electrical maintenance work and routine preventative electrical maintenance work according to set schedule and maintenance procedures.
- Monitor the physical condition of all equipment in windfarm and report non-conformances to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Troubleshoot and address electrical failures and implement corrective actions in compliance with maintenance procedures and guidelines to reduce downtime.
- Support Maintenance Supervisor in performing root-cause-analysis by diagnosing probable causes of electrical malfunction.
- Organize and maintain complete records of preventive, corrective, predictive and reactive maintenance works.
- Update the maintenance logbook and record activities in reasonable details including observations / finding on equipment condition.
- Regularly verify the necessary stock levels of spare parts and support in effective inventory control.
- Oversee the activities being performed by third-party maintenance contractors and report deviation / non-conformance with respect to contract and approved maintenance procedures.
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives in accordance with Change Management Plan.
- Participate in classroom / on-job / refresher trainings.
- Adhere and ensure strict compliance with environmental & social management system; and communicate to HSE and Operation Management for any near-misses, incidents, accidents and non-conformances.
- Always ensure the proper use of PPE and other safety equipment, as provided in safety manual.
- Ensure that PTW and LOTO procedure are implemented effectively.
- Coordinate activities with other staff members and departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
- Good knowledge of maintenance of HV / MV Substation equipment like HV switchgear, MV switchgear, transformer, Relay & Control Protection Panels, AC/DC auxiliary system, Emergency Diesel Generator, Power Transformers, Instrument Transformers and Cabling Works
- Basic understanding and concept of substation scheme drawings and operational activities of windfarm
- Basic understanding of maintenance of Wind Turbines
- Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system
- Teamwork and effective collaboration skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills as well
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Associate’s Diploma in Electrical
- 5+ years’ experience in maintenance of utility-scale wind power plants with minimum size of 50 MW
DESIRED EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Associate’s Diploma in Electrical
- 7+ years’ experience in maintenance of utility-scale wind power plants with minimum size of 50 MW
