Job Summary:
This strategic leadership role is responsible for advancing TAQA’s group-wide sustainability agenda by embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into the core business strategy. The role requires an all-rounded professional with strong innovation, analytical, and technical acumen to spearhead sustainability initiatives, influence decision-making, and drive long-term impact. This includes identifying forward-looking trends, developing scalable frameworks, and managing programs that enable TAQA to operate responsibly, efficiently, and competitively within the evolving energy landscape.
General Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning
- Implement the organizational strategy in line with business vision, mission, and corporate objectives, as well as the group delegation of authority policy.
- Ensure that the overall business strategy is translated into annual operational business plans and the performance is monitored to ensure business plans are in line with the overall growth plan.
- Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems
- Implement policy, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all functional areas in line with group delegation of authority policy to ensure fulfilment of all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements while consistently delivering quality and cost-effective service.
- Reporting
- Ensure all divisional reports are completed timely and comply with HQ and business policies and standards.
- Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
- Comply with organization requirements in a timely manner.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Sustainability Strategy and PMO
- Lead the implementation and periodic update of TAQA’s sustainability strategy aligned with TAQA’s defined pillars of sustainability, including water, diversity, and inclusion, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and governance.
- Develop strategies and implementation plans to integrate new sustainability related considerations into TAQA’s business strategy. Analyze external sustainability trends and regulations and assess their implications for TAQA.
- Assist in identifying key sustainability priorities at a group-wide level and provide guidance and support to sustainability initiative teams, champions, and functions across HQ and business units, in setting measurable short term and long-term KPIs for sustainability focus areas.
- Implement and periodically update the comprehensive roadmap for achieving sustainability targets, outlining the necessary steps and milestones. Coordinate and monitor the implementation of sustainability initiatives by closely collaborating with relevant teams across the HQ and business units to ensure effective communication, alignment, and progress tracking.
- Drive efforts focusing on sustaining the strategy across the organization to minimize the organization’s negative Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impact by identifying and implementing sustainable practices. Drive the development and implementation of education and empowerment programs related to sustainability across TAQA.
- Design and deliver capability development programs on sustainability, equipping employees with the necessary knowledge and skills. Explore new technologies, practices, and partnerships that drive sustainability.
Sustainability Data Management and Analysis
- Drive the collection, analysis, and management of sustainability-related data to support the leadership with decision-making and provide inputs to reporting of other avenues such as balance scorecard performance, annual reports, corporate governance report, bond prospectus, investor relations presentation, etc.
- Develop and maintain systems and processes for tracking and reporting on key sustainability metrics, targets, and performance indicators.
- Provide inputs in the preparation of TAQA’s sustainability disclosures and ensure accurate and transparent reporting of the organization’s performance and progress towards sustainability goals and special initiatives.
- Conduct research and consolidate data for key ESG disclosure requirements and credit rating agencies. Consolidate group wide ESG metrics into data reports by coordinating with relevant teams within the business units.
- Identify performance improvement opportunities based on the analysis of data and provide recommendations on improving sustainability performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, investors, employees, customers, suppliers, and business partners, to promote sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of sustainability throughout the organization. Partner with relevant external stakeholders to ensure proper governance of sustainability partnerships.
- Manage TAQA’s involvement and contribution on key stakeholder strategy projects, including shareholders, regulators, and ministries.
- Partner with the internal sustainability network to understand concerns, interests, and expectations.
These responsibilities are representative, and the role holder is also responsible for any other job assigned by the superior authorities from time to time.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Environmental Science or Social Science or Engineering, or any other related specialization.
- 6-8 years of relevant working experience in the energy sector (industry or management consulting) or related role

- Female UAE national
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Environmental Science or Social Science or Economics or Engineering, or any other related course
- 8-10 years of relevant working experience in the energy sector (industry or management consulting) or related role
- Industry recognized certification on sustainability topic
