This position in Sargent & Lundy’s Consulting group will require you to focus on our solar and energy storage projects, such as the following:

• Owner’s engineering services for electric utilities and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to support new utility-scale solar and/or battery energy storage projects. Common tasks include:
  • Preparing conceptual electrical designs to support grid interconnection applications
  • Providing technical support during the grid interconnection process
  • Providing technical support for component selection and critical review of key components with exposure to various Industry standards
  • Evaluating EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractors
  • Reviewing EPC submittals including design criteria, major equipment procurement specifications, electrical design drawing packages, supporting calculations, commissioning procedures, key equipment test reports, etc.
• Independent engineering and technical due diligence services for project financing or asset acquisition of new solar and/or energy storage projects. Common tasks include:
  • Evaluating and Reviewing Solar PV and Balance of Plant technologies
  • Evaluating project execution plans from EPC contractors
  • Reviewing project contracts including PPA, EPC, and O&M agreements
  • Reviewing and conducting Energy Yield estimates
  • Reviewing project CAPEX, OPEX, and performance parameters in financial models
• Evaluation of operating solar and/or energy storage assets, including O&M assessment
• Other job duties as a Senior Consultant may also include:
  • Preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculations
  • Collaborating with teammates to define project execution plans
  • Monitoring project schedules and budgets
  • Conducting multiple project simultaneously and ensure high standards of deliverables are met
  • Interfacing with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project execution
  • Preparing proposals for new business development opportunities
  • Traveling from time to time to visit project locations and client offices.

This position will be located in the UAE – local candidates are preferred.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (other engineering disciplines may be considered).

In order to qualify, it is important that you have 7+ years of experience in the solar and/or energy storage industry, including one or more of the following:

• 5+ years of experience in design of utility-scale solar projects in the MENA Region
• Experience in solar project diligence services
• Regional experience with owner’s engineering activities during solar and/or battery energy storage project execution is a plus.

• Project planning and leadership skills.
