We’re Hiring | Commissioning Engineer
Gotion is seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our Middle East team, responsible for the full-cycle commissioning work of new energy projects, ensuring the smooth implementation, safety compliance and high-quality delivery of project commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimize commissioning procedures; formulate pre-commissioning checklists, detailed commissioning plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as functional test and site acceptance test protocols. Compile and submit formal commissioning and acceptance test reports in accordance with specifications.
- Conduct end-to-end commissioning operations, including coolant filling, fire suppression system testing, HVAC and thermal management testing, BMS/EMS communication debugging, system configuration, balancing, capacity and performance testing. Ensure all commissioning work is aligned with the overall project schedule and key milestones.
- Accurately record all commissioning activities, test data, results, identified issues and corresponding resolution measures. Be responsible for the management and archiving of on-site documents and reports, including daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), daily activity/progress reports, commissioning reports and punch lists. Participate in project coordination, safety review and working meetings as required.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are fully compliant with Gotion’s safety policies and operating procedures, as well as applicable international and local regulatory standards (OHSA, NFPA and local regulatory authorities). Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and arc flash protection devices, and follow other relevant safety measures. Lead or participate in on-site safety briefings and toolbox talks to reinforce on-site safety management.
Qualifications & Competencies
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in new energy project commissioning. Prior experience in performance testing, battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar energy, wind energy or related new energy systems is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Relevant electrical work experience and professional electrical certificates/qualifications are a plus.
- Strong team collaboration and cross-functional communication capabilities, able to work effectively with internal and external teams including system engineering, product management and software development teams to achieve project goals.
