🛠️ Role Summary

We are seeking aSenior Solar / PV Design Engineer to join our growing technical team. In this role, you will design and develop construction-ready plans for rooftop, ground-mounted, and carport solar PV systems and hybrid/BESS solutions. You will be responsible for aligning design output with contract specifications, client requirements, and regulatory compliance – ensuring projects are both buildable and optimized for performance and cost.

This is a cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, Execution, Business Development, HSE, clients, consultants, and government authorities. 🎓 Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years’ experience as a Solar PV Design Engineer.
• Proven knowledge of PV system execution and mechanical/electrical installation.
• Skilled in PVsyst, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of regional regulations and solar PV permitting.

Preferred:

• Multi-project execution and hybrid systems experience.
• Knowledge of HSE protocols in solar construction.
• Multinational exposure or experience working in matrix organizations.
• Registered with local Grid Operator/Utility for design and interconnection.

📌 Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Regulation & Grid Compliance

• In-depth knowledge of local electrical networks, Grid Codes, and PoCC standards.
• Lead grid connection applications and design PV systems across net-metering, self-consumption, captive, and BESS configurations.
• Interpret and apply relevant IEC, BS, and IEEE standards for both on- and off-grid systems.

2. Proposal Stage Design

• Conduct site visits and desktop assessments to inform preliminary designs.
• Analyze RFPs and generate optimized, cost-effective PV design solutions.
• Prepare preliminary layouts, SLDs, energy yield estimates (via PVsyst), and indicative BOQs.

3. Detailed Engineering & Documentation

• Develop complete construction drawing packages with central engineering.
• Ensure designs meet utility, grid operator, and local authority specifications.
• Coordinate with procurement to align equipment specs with design.
• Submit interconnection packages and secure technical approvals.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

• Negotiate technical aspects with EPCs and suppliers.
• Review specifications for modules, inverters, MV/LV/HV components, trackers, and monitoring systems.
• Validate contractor and vendor designs for compliance and optimization.
• Conduct PV plant performance analysis, including P90 assessments and risk evaluations.
