Job Summary:

Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical designs, preparing detailed workshop drawings, and releasing BOMs.

Key Accountabilities:

• Mechanical design/detail of core and coils, tanks, enclosures, and cooling systems per customer requirements.
• Review designs for mechanical integrity and conformance to applicable standards.
• Select transformer accessories/components.
• Apply analytical and numerical methods to analyze mechanical designs for structural integrity and thermal performance.
• Follow clearance requirements for dielectric and thermal/magnetic heating.
• Read, interpret, and prepare data for engineering bills of materials.
• Prepare other engineering documentation such as 3D models, drawings, schematics, and specifications for manufacturing.
• Develop tools and rules to make your job and others in the department more efficient; i.e. iLogic, Excel, work instructions, etc.

Qualifications & Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• +3 years of Experience in Mechanical design
• Proficiency in Mechanical design software such as SolidWorks ( parts , assembly , sheet metal , releasing workshop drawings , BOM )/ AutoCAD / sheet metal / welding , machining process
• Strong knowledge of 3D modeling and/or Autodesk products is also required.
• Strong computer skills
• Effective communication in a cross-functional environment
• Flexibility and the ability to multi-task .
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Highly motivated, demonstrates initiative, and the willingness to learn
