Job Summary

The Solutions Engineer – High Voltage will oversee solutions and design activities for high-voltage power transformers, MV Skid, and GIS, specializing in component selection and design optimization to enhance bidding competitiveness. This role includes proficiency in reviewing the design calculations, structural design, process improvement, and adherence to technical standards. This Solutions Engineer will cover projects in UAE, Oman, Kuwait markets.

Duties & Responsibilities / What You Will Do

Design Finalization

• Review technical specifications and project requirements for MV/HV components (e.g., switchgear, transformers, GIS & MV Skid).
• Coordinate with engineering teams to finalize engineering drawings, GA layouts, and SLDs in compliance with IEC standards.
• Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and utility regulations in line with the RFQ’s.

Coordination with HQ (Headquarters)

• Act as a key interface between regional office and HQ design/manufacturing teams.
• Provide HQ with localized technical inputs (site conditions, climate, customer-specific norms).
• Manage the engineering review cycles (initial, intermediate, final) with HQ, ensuring timely feedback and updates.
• Escalate and resolve design conflicts, deviations, and clarifications with HQ engineering and product teams.
• Track design document approvals and BOM finalization for timely procurement and manufacturing.

Coordination with End Customer

• Participate in technical clarification meetings, FAT preparations, and design review discussions with clients.
• Translate customer feedback into actionable design changes in collaboration with HQ.
• Provide customers with engineering documentation (technical datasheets, drawings, interface requirements).
• Ensure customer approval on technical deliverables and variation requests.
• Support customer during factory visits, FATs, and technical audits.

Cross-Functional Support

• Collaborate with project execution, design and quality teams for seamless project flow.
• Assist in preparing technical submittals and responding to technical queries from EPCs or consultants.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for design-related NCRs or failures (if any).

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain up-to-date design records, revisions, and approval logs.
• Ensure traceability of all technical decisions and communication.

Required Qualifications / This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Below

• Familiar with the requirements of HV components standards, with 5-10 years of relevant evaluation/ design experience and bidding review experience.
• Familiarity with MV/HV standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, etc.).
• Sound knowledge of electrical system design, insulation coordination, short circuit analysis
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar design software. (Added advantage, not a MUST)
• Strong learning ability, and practical operation ability.
