About the Role: Project Engineer 🌟

📍 Location:Bahrain

Our Project Engineers meticulously plan and integrate designs (translating PV and Grid Infrastructure designs from paper into high-performing energy assets), and address other functional requirements (including HSE, Legal & Regulatory, Risk, Quality, and Commissioning as per YDE standards and applicable local/international regulations) for the execution of Solar PV on-site energy projects.They serve as a nerve center, coordinating with various teams and overseeing the monitoring and control of project deliverables from conception to completion.

This role manages project deliverable requirements and contractor relations, in addition to establishing and monitoring metrics, project schedules, and cost performance of the project in accordance with company systems and practices. S/he provides guidance and supervision to project deliverables, review and approve design, shop drawings, material submittals, quantities and quality of work.

What You’ll Do:

1: Project Development & Execution

• Lends technical support to business development team and is the technical representative of YDE during commercial negotiations with potential customers.
• Develop project scope involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility.
• Prepares RFPs for YDE’s project and liaises with YDE’s EPC Contractor for their participation.
• Manage the project once the EPC contract is signed through to PAC by planning project milestones and the execution process.
• Create plans for solar energy system development, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
• Identify the risk and prepares the risk mitigation plan with problem solving skills and techniques
• Prepare detailed work plans and drive the contractor to align all the work activity to utilize the full manpower and all man hours while maintaining YDE standards and specifications.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timelines are met in accordance industry Quality standards
• Coordinate with the client and contractor regarding the project requirements to smoothen the process.
• Maintain a good relationship with clients by conducting weekly meetings and keeping them updated with project progress.
• Oversee site engineering, quality control, and problem-solving.
• Ensuring that all the submitted design documents meet the required specification.
• Apply knowledge of HSE to ensure the project follows YDE’s HSE guidelines.
• Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of commercial solar power systems.
• Collect data about project sites.
• Review specifications and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes to achieve solar design objectives.
• Evaluate plans or specifications to determine technological or environmental implications.
• Facilitates the project manager in internal and external progress reporting.
• Possess through knowledge of local utility regulations for securing the permits and implementations of solar projects in the emirates.
• Inspect, test and commission the solar projects as per local and international industry practice.

2: Project Evaluation

• Brings on-board EPC Contractors and gets them pre-qualified as per YDE’s policies.
• Inspect finished products to identify flaws and implement YDE’s quality control plan.
• Conduct cost reduction analyses for solar systems.
• Create checklists for review or inspection of completed solar installation projects.
• Test and assess photovoltaic (PV) cells or modules.
• Analyze the costs and benefits of proposed designs or projects.
• Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.
• Finalize the project with the relevant authorities.

What We’re Looking For:

🛠️ Technical Competencies:

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in PV power plant design and execution.
• Proficiency in PV Syst, MS Project, and/or Primavera.
• Knowledge of local utility regulations and permitting processes.

Preferred:

• Certification in Project Management (PMP, IPMA, or Prince 2).
• Experience with BESS, hybrid systems, and grid-tied C&I projects (1MW to 5MW).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and HSE standards.
