Role Summary The NEOM Energy Sector is looking for a Specialist – Renewable Generation with a background in utility-scale renewable projects focusing on Solar PV from greenfield to operational to:

• Support development, construction and commissioning activities of temporary small scale renewable power projects greater than 1MW but not exceeding 100 MW.
• Coordinate with relevant internal departments within NEOM to identify required temporary and permanent renewable energy generation capacities needed to be deployed in the short term
• Interface with other energy and NEOM teams to deliver NEOM’s 100% renewables-based energy system
• Support the interfaces with external authorities and other internal and external stakeholders to secure information flow, support, approvals and permits as well as procure EPC to build and operate the solar generation plant(s)

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

• Perform technical and commercial analyses and works to develop, design, tender, finance, construct and operate renewable power generation projects with the support of consultants and EPC companies
• Contract and manage consultants ensuring best professional practices for NEOM’s renewable distributed generation projects
• Develop and implement guidelines and best practices to ensure successful delivery of EPC selection packages and all internal approvals for renewable distributed generation capacity
• Evaluate and utilize new technologies (together with storage/flexibility) to enhance overall capacity factor and site efficiency and ensure integration of new technologies in NEOM’s energy system
• Actively support overall renewable generation development and interdependencies with other areas within the Energy sector from a generation perspective
• Perform and support the cooperation, alignment and negotiations with governmental authorities and other external stakeholders
• Actively contribute to executive management discussions and decisions, including preparation of bespoke analyses, documentation, and presentations

Education & Experience

• Master Level Education (Engineering, Business or similar)
• Bachelor Level Education (Engineering, Business or similar)
• Relocation to NEOM Community (North-West Saudi Arabia)
• 5 years’ experience in the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of utility-scale renewable energy power plants
• Strong business / commercial acumen as well as technical skills and experience in renewable energy technologies with a focus on Solar PV, strong industry network
• Hands-on experience in the project management of renewable generation projects
• Solid experience with software for the development and design of renewable generation power systems
• Good understanding of renewable energy, emerging cleantech and flexible energy systems and markets
• Superior interpersonal, team and communication skill as well as a focus on efficiency and effectiveness combined with a hands-on, can-do mentality
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a highly dynamic environment
• Ability to build effective working relations with multiple stakeholders, across departments, with differing interests both inside and outside the NEOM organization
• Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills to monitor and handle multiple projects at the same, balance key priorities and meet challenging and changing deadlines
• Delivery mindset (on time, on budget, in quality); high thoroughness and reliability; ability to deliver quality output
• High resilience, proactive problem-solving skills, and strong negotiation skills
• Ability to communicate well both written and verbally with top management and external audiences
• Middle East working experience is a plus
