Job Purpose

To provide technical expertise as required for support on ongoing projects and new business streamlines, (Consultancy, Hydrogen). Especially the designing activities, MEP in addition to support the Team for new Solar Opportunities

Key Accountabilities

• Mechanical structure design and analysis for solar panel installation.
• Compiling project specifications and requirements to estimate the resources, costs, and time required to complete a project successfully. Compiling the total costs associated with projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads. Developing design calculation sheets, Bill of Material, design report, engineering drawings, equipment specification, analysis reports, design verification, design approval, and risk assessment reports.
• Closely collaborate with clients, design teams, and project managers. This entails discussing the projections and rationale, as well as haggling over costs and schedules.
• Communicating with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders to review and agree on project schedules and cost projections.
• Drafting material specifications for material requests and assessing technical bids.
• Analysing and interpreting technical drawings and project papers to comprehend requirements and scope.
• Finite element analysis using 3D modelling, and drafting team supervision before production drawings are produced. Equipment and spare parts for petrochemical plants are reverse engineered and reverse modelled.
• Provide inputs in the preparation of project specifications, drawings and tender documents for Renewable Energy Projects, improvement or plant installation work, and obtaining the requisite statutory approvals, as well as providing technical expertise where required to ensure the quality and successful submission of such documentation.
• Supervise the coordination of plant commissioning activities, including the assignment of a plant support staff and scheduling commissioning activities around plant use to ensure that systems meet the design expectations of the owner.
• Provide technical support to mechanical and electrical design engineers on new and refurbishment projects regarding Renewable Energy Projects implementation energy in order to ensure the design is suitable.
• Guide engineers in resolving complex technical issues and in identifying control system innovations when required to ensure issues are resolved timely.
• Provide training on Solar energy generation and the use of renewable/ sustainable energy resources to help improve educational levels around advanced or specific energy management practices and to advance the level of discussions with clients
• Establish and maintain good relations with suppliers in order to serve the best interests of the organization and supporting the negotiations and cost optimization while ensuring quality standards are met
• Participate in the co-ordination between Enova customers and the team members, and execute customers’ expectations through clear communication and transparent work attitude, in order to ensure satisfactory completion of work.
• Develop a pro-active working relationship with all authorities and assist in establishing areas for service improvement, in addition to representing the company at regular meetings with the client and other authorities
• Preparation of timely and accurate technical report supported by accurate design and calculation documentation.
• Preparation of, Minimum Functional Specification, Method Statement, Feasibility Reports, Sita Assessment Reports
• Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high-quality products / service and a responsible environmental attitude.
• Liaise with the HSEQ department for creating standard operating procedures.
• Timely issue and send the incident reports to HSEEQ department
• Support the HSEQ staff for investigating the incidents
• Finalize and update the HIRA with support of HSEQ staff
• Implement the risk control measures arising from the HIRA
• Conduct toolbox & SOP training whenever the supervisor is deemed incompetent about the topic
• Prepare the yearly schedule of toolbox and SOP training with support HSEQ staff
• Ensure relevant emergency tests are conducted
• Prepare the budget for the respective project and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs / revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are realized.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience MEP design & Cost estimation
• Able to work at site and have good communication skills
• Minimum 6 years of experience in MEP Design
• Proven ability to effectively execute/manage Renewable Energy projects with significant commercial awareness; experience in liaising with consultants and contractors; knowledge of design, understanding of Renewable Energy Projects Commissioning, self-motivated, proactive and customer focused; knowledge of StaadPro, Key to Steel, Pipe Data Pro, Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, PVSyst, any 3D Design / Modeling Software Programme, Microsoft Project
