The Role

We are seeking a Solar Engineer with a strong techno-commercial background to join the team in Dubai. This role is with an Independent Power Producer (IPP) leading in the renewables sector.

Profile Requirements

• Background ideally from consultancy, engineering, or EPC sectors.
• Expertise in:
• Solar PV design and engineering.
• Techno-commercial evaluation of solar projects.
• Knowledge of EPC processes and contract management.
• Familiarity with regulatory and permitting requirements.
• Financial modeling and analysis related to solar projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct techno-commercial assessments of solar PV projects.
• Lead or support in the design and engineering phases of solar projects.
• Manage EPC processes, including preparation of RFPs, contractor selection, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee permitting activities.
• Develop financial models and analyze project feasibility and profitability.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
• Ideally 7 – 10 years of experience in solar PV engineering and techno-commercial roles.
• Proven track record in managing solar projects from conception to completion.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of financial modeling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Based in Dubai, UAE.
