ACWA Power is looking for an experienced Electrical Section Head to join our team at Qurayyah IPP (QIPP) Power Plant, Eastern Saudi Arabia – one of the most advanced Independent Power Projects in the region. This leadership role is essential for overseeing the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of electrical maintenance activities across the plant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems through proper maintenance planning, outage management, and strategic spare parts control. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, ensuring compliance with HSE and quality standards in a high-performance, safety-first environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Lead electrical maintenance activities including routine, corrective, preventive, and major overhauls. Ensure job plans and work orders are executed throughSAP (CMMS) in coordination with maintenance teams.
- Procurement & Spare Parts Management:
- Raise purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables, manage critical spare inventories, and align with budget requirements to support operational continuity.
- Technical Troubleshooting:
- Apply in-depth knowledge of electrical systems (LV, MV, HV), generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems to diagnose and resolve faults.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor the electrical maintenance team. Identify skill gaps, provide on-the-job training (OJT), and perform annual performance evaluations.
- Integrated Management System (IMS):
- Ensure full implementation and monitoring ofISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001) standards. Lead audits, compliance tracking, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Safety & Environmental Compliance:
- Perform Hazard Risk Assessments and Aspect-Impact Assessments. Ensure legal compliance and operational control of HSE systems. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Report daily activities, deviations, emergencies, and resource utilization to the Maintenance Manager. Maintain records and ensure accurate documentation via SAP and other platforms.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical maintenance experience in a large-scale power generation facility, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or section head role.
- Strong electrical operations/maintenance experience in power plants (preferably combined cycle).
- Strong technical expertise in electrical systems/power distribution
- Proficiency in SAP (CMMS) – work order planning, execution, and reporting.
- Strong expertise in electrical systems/power distribution.
- Knowledge of electrical protection systems and relay testing.
- Experience in emission monitoring and waste handling in compliance with environmental standards.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Awareness of quality, occupational health, safety and environment management system principles, experience in hazard risk assessment and with management of HSE emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
