Job description: Job Purpose
This position exists to ensure that employers and workers comply with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to. EHS Officers use their knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace.
Key Accountability Areas
- Assist to develop, monitor and implement the organization’s health and safety policy.
- Implements all Safety aspects as per Company policy, Client approved LPP, contractual and legal requirements related to the project.
- Gets information on work schedule and makes analysis of safety requirements and hazards.
- Ensures that the foreman and operators are trained, qualified, authorized and licensed.
- Ensure the legal requirements for health and safety is maintained in the workplace
- Ensures concerned supervisors and foremen to conduct daily safety review and implement safety aspects relevant to the particular type of work.
- Ensures workers wearing Safety gears like Safety Belts, Gloves, Safety Shoes, Hard hats etc.
- Forecasts any risk and corrects unsafe acts & Checks usage of proper tools and shall allow to use only if found satisfactory.
- Conduct drills, such as fire drills, to ensure equipment is properly functioning and staff is aware of what to do in an emergency.
- Adopts zero risk policy in all fields of activities & Reports immediately any safety violation directly to the Project Manager.
- Conduct investigations: respond to and investigate accidents and emergencies.
- Working knowledge of all site specialist work rules, (with SEC & ARAMCO)
- Carry out daily inspections to see that safe working methods are in operation and H&S requirements are being observed and that welfare/first aid facilities are properly maintained at site.
- Promotes motivation activities to increase Health, Safety and Environmental awareness and excellence at site.
- Understand the principles of risk assessments and method statements.
- Carry out all documentation required for access Gate pass for all workers at all sites.
- Fulfill all regulatory documentation & submit for site startup & In Process & Closing
- Stops work when he found there are failures to work safely
Role Accountability
Delivery:Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.Problem-Solving:Resolve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.Quality:Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities. Business Process Improvement (Effectiveness):Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.Compliance: Comply to related policy & procedures and work instructions.Health & Safety:Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Academic Qualification Technical Diploma/Science Graduate Professional Qualifications: NEBOSH IGC, 3rd party certificates such as train the trainer, IOSH, OSHA 30-hour, Computer literacy; communication skills Work Experience 5+ Experience (Atleast 3 years with multinational or large national companies) Projects: Substation, Power Plants, Industrial Facilities, Commercial buildings Technical / Functional Competencies ▪ Ability to inspect equipment, machinery, workplace, compressed gas cylinders, chemicals etc. ▪ Ability to communicate both verbal and written ▪ Ability to audit the workplace ▪ Ability to organize emergency drills, committee meetings, training programs ▪ Ability to plan EHS requirements as per look ahead plan of the project ▪ Ability to report and investigate incident/accident and near miss ▪ Ability to identify hazards, assess risk and specify and implement controls ▪ Ability to document minutes of meeting, corporate and client reports, emergency evacuation layouts etc. ▪ Ability to retain safety records in files ▪ Ability to get the system audited by client/internal/external auditors Profile description:
